Engineering and installation of 1MWh BESS and 300kW PV system

Client: Fresh and Frozen Storage

Project: logistics base for fresh and frozen products

Site information: logistics facility with a total built-up area of 10 000 m²

Location: Sofia, Bulgaria

Range: photovoltaics 300 kW | BESS 928 kWh

Year: 2025

Project description:

Logistics base for fresh and frozen goods with an existing photovoltaic installation for own supply with a capacity of 998 kWp.
The logistics has constant consumption 24/7 and a surplus of produced energy mainly in the spring and in the summer. Excess production is limited
through the inverters (at this point).

PV Installation:

  • Peak Power: 300 kWp
    (additional to an existing PV installation with a peak power of 1 MWp)
  • Invertors: 2 x Huawei SUN2000-100KTL & 2 x Huawei SUN2000-50KTL
  • Structure: Aerocompact
  • Type: Own consumption

Batery Energy Storage System (BESS):

Integration of a BESS with the following specifications:

  • PCS: 400 kW
  • Dyness Batteries DH200Y: 4×232 kWh cabinets and 4xPCS 100 kW
  • Cooling: Liquid cooling

Smart energy management system (EMS):

  • Full integration and control of the PV and the battery storage systems;
  • Optimization according to usage demand and market prices (price tariffs: segment “Day ahead”);
  • Integration of a smart energy management system that can work with predefined scenarios;
  • Option for future integration of an EV charging stations.

Benefits:

  • Minimizing the energy costs;
  • Load shaving;
  • Arbitrage;
  • Smart production, storage and load control.
