PV and BESS systems integration
Client: M.J.Dairies
Project: Milk Processing Plant
Site information: A production facility with an approximate area of 21,000 m²
Location: Karlovo, Bulgaria
Scope: PV 600 kW | BESS 1290 kWh
Year: 2025

Project description:
A production facility with an existing photovoltaic installation for own supply with a capacity of 725 kWp.
The plant has a constant consumption 24/7 and with almost no surplus of the produced energy.
The goal of the project is to increase the capacity of the PV installation and to add a high quality battery in order to store the the increased amount of energy produced.
PV Installation:
- Peak Power: 600 kWp (additional to an existing PV installation with a peak power of 725 kWp)
- Inverters: 5 x Huawei SUN2000-100KTL & 2 x Huawei SUN2000-50KTL
Structure: Aerocompact - Type: Own consumption
Batery Energy Storage System (BESS):
Integration of a BESS with the following specifications:
- PCS: 400 kW
- Dyness Batteries DH200F: 6 x 215 kWh cabinets and 6 x PCS 100 kW
Smart energy management system (EMS):
- Full integration and control of the PV and the battery storage systems.
- Optimization according to usage demand and market prices (price tariffs: segment “Day ahead”);
- Integration of a smart energy management system that can work with predefined scenarios;
- Option to use the BESS as an emergency power supply.
Benefits:
- Minimizing the energy costs;
- Peak shaving;
- Arbitrage;
- Smart production, storage and load control;
- Optional emergency power supply.
